LENTEN Retreat - 2022

with Fr. David L. Ungerleider, SJ

Professional Bio

David, a Jesuit priest, is President of the Iberoamericana University  Foundation in San Diego, CA. He is also director of the Manresa Prayer  House and Project Coordinator for its Foundation, and serves as a member  of the Society of Jesus’ Mexican Province outreach for Social  Assistance Projects to the Tarahumara indigenous people in Chihuahua,  MX.

David was a professor of sociology at the Autonomous Juárez  University of Tabasco and the Olmeca University in Tabasco, MX  (1992-1996). He has also served as the director of several nonprofit  organizations and overseen the development and construction of multiple  building projects for the Society of Jesus at the Iberoamerica  University in Tijuana, MX, including its library, university auditorium,  and the Manresa Prayer House.

David entered the Society of Jesus in 1969, and was ordained a Jesuit  priest in 1977.  He has degrees in Philosophy and Letters from the  University of St. Louis, MO (BA, 1973), and Religious Sciences from the  Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City, MX (1975), and the National  School of Anthropology and History, Mexico City, MX (MA-Social  Anthropology, 1983).

The Gospel challenges us to be forgiving and merciful


Day 3. 

Following Jesus on his journey to communicate God's love and solidarity in a broken world.

Sunday, September 7 – 10:30 AM, Feast Day of Viejas mass

Saturday, September 13 – The Feast of San Lorenzo Ruiz at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9:30 AM – rosary, 10:00 AM – Eucharistic Celebration

Sunday, September 14 – Children’s Mass at all reservations

Sunday, September 16 –6:30 PM at Rincon Hall, Last planning meeting for Indigenous Day mass. 

Monday, Sept. 22 – Thursday, Sept. 25 – Convocation of Priests at Temecula, Fr. Herman will be attending. There will be no 8:00 AM morning masses M-F this week.

Sunday, September 26 – 3RD Annual Native American Indigenous People Mass, St. Barthol
